CIHSR is a Trust set up in 2005 by the Government of Nagaland, The Government of India and CMC (Vellore) to revive a 100 acre Hospital Campus, construction of which was started by the Central Government some 25 years prior and not completed for various reasons. Integral to this strategy is the setting up of a College of Nursing, Student Housing, Junior Staff Housing as well as a Regional Institute of Para medical Sciences (RIPMS).
CIHSR Hostel : The Hostel provides accommodation for some 550 girl students in rooms with 4 beds to single beds. The planning ensures the essential virtues of good natural lighting, cross ventilation, coherent circulation and effective control and security. The interior planning of the rooms and their layout attempts to provide personal zone for each occupant with some degree of autonomy and provide spaces that would promote a sense of community and joint group activities .
